Position Overview: Hupp Aerospace / Defense is seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Business Development Manager to drive sales and business development efforts for our interconnect and wire harness services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in wire harness and cable fabrication, combined with exceptional interpersonal and sales skills. This role will be instrumental in identifying customer needs, delivering tailored solutions, and fostering long-term relationships with customers in the aerospace and defense industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

o Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the aerospace and defense sectors for interconnect and wire harness solutions.

o Assist in the development of and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.

o Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends, competitive products and customer needs.

Customer Engagement:

o Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.

o Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring the successful integration of Hupp’s tailored kitting and wire harness solutions into their systems.

o Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues.

Technical Expertise:

o Develop a deep understanding of Hupp Aerospace / Defense’s tailored kitting solutions and interconnect/wire harness solutions, capabilities and applications.

o Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals and product demonstrations to customers.

o Collaborate with engineering teams to design and recommend customized solutions for customer requirements.

Sales Process Management:

o Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification, to closing deals and after-sales support.

o Prepare and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with Company policies.

o Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales opportunities and forecasts in the CRM system.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Partner with internal departments, including engineering, production and quality assurance, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.

o Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer requirements and market demands.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience with interconnect and wire harness manufacturing.

· 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably within the aerospace, defense or related industries.

· Proven knowledge of interconnect and wire harness systems, including connectors, cables and assemblies.

· Strong understanding of aerospace and defense procurement processes and standards.

· Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

· Ability to travel domestically, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry certifications (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC A-620).

· Experience working with ERP and CRM systems.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
